SUMMARY

This is an entry-level training position that is temporarily held until a competency is demonstrated in the desired area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned

All Apprentices start in the Material Handler role familiarizing themselves with all areas of the shop. Responsibilities include:

  • Operate an overhead crane and fork lift truck with trailer to move raw blocks and tooling for job preparations and job transitions for CNC machines.
  • Utilize schedule board to assist in job transitions and task prioritization.
  • Ensure that material in the shop is identified and clearly labeled.
  • Check incoming material, verify shippers and prepare finished jobs for shipping.
  • Assist with finishing processes, including cleaning and deburring material, maintenance and clean-up for each job.

As an Apprentice, your responsibilities include:

  • Learn and demonstrate the skills needed to become proficient in the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the completion of the Apprentice Training Plan.
  • Required to attend monthly Apprentice meetings to provide feedback on how training is progressing.

As a Machinist, your responsibilities include:

  • Setup, adjust and check out programming and operate numerically controlled machine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring considerable skill.
  • Review machine schedule board for machining needed daily.
  • Works from programming instructions, operational data and machine setup instructions
  • Manage scheduled hours, estimating hours accurately and communicate to supervisor estimated over/under hours.
  • Manage machine program files.
  • Verify tooling and setup of job on the machine.
  • Communicate with programming or the lead Machinist on any concerns with the programs.
  • Responsible for maintenance of machine and cleanliness of area daily.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent is required.  Must have been trained and worked-in Paragon’s Material Handler role for at least 3 months and/or equivalent experience.

3D CNC Programmer

SUMMARY

The position is required to develop complex 3-D and 5-axis programs with a high degree of safety, quality, and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Develops complex 3-D and 5-axis programs.
  • Proactively works with scheduling to improve workflow to increase efficiencies and reduce set-up times.
  • Provides input for development of macros and/or templates to automate complex machining processes.
  • Evaluates the project and proactively identifies, develops and communicates a successful machining plan.
  • Effectively collaborates with the team (Supervisors, Program Managers, Engineers and Project Leads etc.) to achieve safety, quality and efficiency goals.
  • Sees the value of metrics (spindle time, hours, machine health, etc.) and promotes collaboration with their team to achieve goals.
  • Implements positive changes in their area to promote efficiencies.
  • Works closely with Supervisor to identify skill-levels of employees for best utilization and potential training opportunities.
  • Creates processes to avoid potential safety hazards and quality issues to equipment and people.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a High School degree or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in complex 3-D and 5-axis programming.  Experience programming with Powermill is preferred.

SUMMARY

The position is required to operate a designated CNC machine with a high degree of accuracy and speed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES and all other duties as assigned.

  • Setup, adjust and check out programming and operate numerically controlled machine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring considerable skill.
  • Review machine schedule board for machining needed daily.
  • Works from programming instructions, operational data and machine setup instructions defining and coding tool arrangements, material clamping methods, machine calibrations and console settings for operations and occasional profiling and contouring.
  • Manage scheduled hours, estimating hours accurately and communicate to supervisor –Estimated over/under hours.
  • Manage machine program files.
  • Verify programming and that the material/component matches the data/program.
  • Maintaining traceability of job data, files, materials, components.
  • Verify tooling and setup of job on the machines

SUMMARY

Work with all areas of manufacturing to assist with the overall build of a specified job. Mold Makers are responsible for the assembly, repair, and maintenance of molds, components, and inserts. Should be able to work from diagrams and specifications to manufacture products and components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Well versed in new mold assembly, tear down, and spotting.
  • Ability to polish finished molds for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
  • Complete assembly tasks per the lineup.
  • Identify and report any needed materials or components that are not available to complete lineup tasks.
  • Communicate progress and status of tasks by leaving a written lineup at shift-end.
  • Verify work order items and pre-shipment checklist tasks are performed and completed.
  • Maintain traceability of job materials/components.
  • Communicate and report non-conforming products.
  • Maintain status of calibrated personal tools (if applicable).
  • Perform the necessary in-process quality checks for specified operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school degree or equivalent; 10+ years’ experience in plastic injection tooling required.

Engineering and Tooling Design Lead

SUMMARY
Prepare engineered files for programming, assembly or the customer directly. Design various types of tooling and supply manufacturing with the data for tool builds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Manage multiple tool designs ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Develop tool designs from conception to completion and develop runoff and parting lines using solid modeling.
  • Compares final data from customers to insure project definition accuracy.
  • Prep for and attend assigned meetings to manage open issues and set dates for milestones.
  • Attain and submit all the information required for customer approvals.
  • Create custom components and modifications.
  • Identify and approve stock list for purchased components.
  • Prepare the needed data for Programming, Assembly or the Customer.
  • Update current data to our data management system (PICs) daily.
  • Attend tooling review meetings and interact with the customer.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, program management and manufacturing ensuring the projects success.

Lead Responsibilities

  • Participate in various Product Group planning meetings.
  • Prep work for assignment to team members.
  • Delegate work to their Engineering support team.
  • Manage daily progress report outs (input from team members).
  • Notify Department Supervisor regarding additional resource needs.
  • Enter Significant notations for clarification and reference (job notes journaling).
  • Responsible for making sure job milestones are met.
  • Manage and communicate plan deviations as required.
  • Insure consistent standards on customer packages.
  • Provide performance concerns/feedback about their support team to Department Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years equivalent experience in tool design/tool building, preferably in plastic mold tooling or four-year degree in Engineering/Design.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.  Previous experience with VISI solid model software highly preferred. Supervision experience desired.  Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and one-piece-flow a plus.
